B2.1 Writing a story


WARM-UP :FORTUNATELY/ UNFORTUNATELY



TASK: WRITE A SHORT STORY.
A popular magazine is holding a short story competition, and you have decided to enter.
It should start as follows.
" It was three o´clock in the morning when the phone rang"
 Don´t forget to make it vivid and lively using a variety of narrative tenses and specific adverbs and adjectives.

Write a story (150 words approx.). Follow this structure:

Paragraph 1

Set the scene/context (For example, who-where-when-what)

Paragraph 2

Develop the story (Complication) (Description of events)

Paragraph 3

Conclusion (Resolution) (End of story, feelings, comments or reactions).

 Please, include and underline:

  • At least 1 example of the three narrative tenses (past simple, past continuous and past perfect).
  • At least 1 descriptive verb.
  • At least 3  sentence adverbs (page 194)
