Subject: Proposal to inform and motivate students about environmental care issues.

Introduction

In response to your request, I am submitting this proposal to suggest some strategies to teach students how to face  environmental problems in a wisely way  and to make easier and painless  for them their transition to a greener life.

Getting information

The majority of the students know that our planet is experiencing negative changes as a consequence of human activity, nonetheless, there is still a lack of knowledge about the danger it represents for the inhabitants of the Earth. Therefore, I recommend that a larger information campaign is carried out. By screening show videos or documentaries showing the major threatens for the environment and how our daily activities contribute to it, we might make them aware of the importance of protecting the environment.

In addition, I propose you inviting environmental specialists once a month. It would bring students the opportunity to clear up any doubt or hesitation about this topic avoiding misunderstandings and, at the same time, they will be up to date on technology applied in this matter and running projects.

Ways in which students can become more active

One of the most common challenges we face while trying to turn up our life into a greener one is to find the easiest way to become zero waste. Therefore, I would like to propose the creation of workshops where students can learn how to make their own toiletries  such as toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo bars and soaps. This activity would not only help reducing the amount of waste but also it is a healthier way to take care of their bodies. Likewise, we can implement a workshop to learn how to use organic waste to make compost.

On the other hand, volunteering activities may be organized. Planting trees, cleaning rivers and spreading the word in surrounding villages might be a great opportunity to motivate and to educate more people. Additionally, features such as fellowship, love for nature, committment and  a sense of achievement might be developed by students which make them grow as a person.

Special Events promoting environmental awareness

Apart from the invitation of specialists, we can take advantage of students´ talent in order to organize concerts, performances, exhibitions, film projections, and so forth. Such events will help us to rise funds for the running costs of the workshops and volunteering.

Moreover, I would like to suggest a monthly videoconference with students from foreign schools. This will bring students the opportunity to test their languages skills while they keep informed about what is going on in other countries in terms of environmental awareness.

Conclusion

It is my hope that you will take my proposal into serious consideration. I feel confident that if these recommendations are implemented the students will play a more active role in protecting the environment and will promote environmental awareness among people all around them.

  Subject: Promoting environmental awareness among students

  Introduction

  The principal aims of this proposal are to suggest varied ways of informing students and encouraging them to protect the environment. It also suggests some ideas for special events.

  Ways of informing students

  For this purpose, it is suggested that our school facilitates information to students by means of  talks and conferences given by experts in this field, several documentaries about climate change, endangered species, coral reef preservation and so on. On the other hand, the school might print engaging environmental leaflets, create an environmental blog and encourage the use of social networks to promote environmental protection.

  Ways of protecting the environment

  Not only developing an active role in protecting the environment is essential for us but also for the next generations. In this sense, it is useful to get accustomed to recycling plastic and paper bags by using them several times. Besides, reducing the consumption of water and electricity, for instance, unplugging electrical devices when they are not used; putting organic trash, paper and plastic containers in different rubbish bins. In addition, riding bicycles or going on foot between places and using public transport. Furthermore, composting vegetables and fruits, belonging to environmental organizations and participating in their projects like cleaning river banks, making young children aware of the vital importance of protecting the environment are appropriate ways of attaining this goal.

  Special events

  Our school could celebrate a cultural week dedicated to the environment with diverse activities: prestigious experts in environmental issues and -maybe- some celebrities could be invited to promote environmental awareness among students, creative writing workshops and exhibitions about environment, projection of documentaries, appealing posters placed throughout the school building, or  a food festival with organic food . In addition, excursions and trips to the field can open students' eyes and broaden their minds.

  Conclusion

I feel confident that if these measures are taken, the objectives mentioned in the introduction of this proposal will be reached.

Subject: Proposal for involving students in protecting the environment.

INTRODUCTION

The aim of this proposal is to suggest a number of ways to encourage students to play a more active role in protecting the environment by increasing their awareness about the importance of the issue and by offering ways of taking care of it.

INCREASING AWARENESS

No longer can we ignore the problems of climate change and the damages than modern lifestyle is causing to our planet. We are planning to facilitate ways of making students conscious of the situation by a variety of activities that could take place in our school, such as lectures given by organisms as WWF, Green Peace, …Other useful meassures could be the projection of films regarding the issue, distribution of leaflets, letters posted in social network media, etcetera.

OFFERING MEASURES

In order to promote real measures to protect the environment we suggest that the school should provide containers to recycle paper and other materials in all the classrooms and other places commonly used by students and teachers. Extracurricular activities should also be aimed to protect the environment: outings to clean the nearest forests, planting trees in the area surrounding our school, visits to a recycling plant, etc. A bike park is needed in order to promote the use of the bike as a mean of transport to the school, as well as the construction and maintenance of a cycling lane. Other examples that could help in a daily life routine are disposing toilet paper in special containers that only offer a short piece of paper at a time or taps and lights that close themselves automatically. Those would prevent wasting paper and water and would show the commitment of the entire school in preserving the environment.

CONCLUSION

It is my hope that the suggestions of this proposal contribute to a significant improvement in both: the awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and the students becoming more active in this matter.

Subject: Proposal about environmental awareness

Introduction

The Planet Earth and the environment need our help in order to deal with Global Warming. Although all generations can contribute to solve this problem, students are the target public to be aimed at. The principal objective of this proposal is to encourage students to play a more active role in protecting the environment.

Inform Students

It’s necessary to claim the attention of the majority of the students, so that they can help and make the difference. Schools should advertise the risks of Global Warming, using leaflets or big posters and invite speakers to talk about this question in some conferences. Other ways to concern students about this problem is showing related documentaries or organizing field trips.

The active participation of students

After being informed, students will be able to become more active and contribute effectively. Recycling is the easiest way in which all students can participate. At the same time, reducing the consumption of plastic, water and electricity are urgently required. Moreover, in order to reduce the car use, students can go on foot or ride a bike to school, it’s cheaper and they will avoid gas emissions. Another interesting idea is to plant a tree in a nearby forest. This way, more oxygen will be produced.

Promoting environmental awareness

The most important question is thinking about the motivation of all students. In order to guarantee that each one is involved in this project, organizing special events like food festivals about organic food or park cleaning activities are suggested. Furthermore, selling metal bottles at the school is an important measure to replace the plastic ones. This way, students are participating actively, at the same time they’re having fun.

Conclusion

It is our hope that if these measures are taken, there will be a significant improvement in the situation. Moreover, students are the key for the future, if they become aware and motivated about this world problem, they can definitely make the difference and change the environment conditions.

Subject: Proposal to encourage students to play a more active role in protecting the environment

Introduction.

The principal aim of this proposal is to present some ideas in order to encourage students to play a more active role in the protection of the environment. No longer can we ignore the global situation, so I would like to give some recommendations to be taken into account.

How to inform about the importance of protecting the environment.

As we are considering the role of the school to be essential in raising awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, I believe that our action should start in the classrooms. There should be specific contents in the lessons about the issue, being addressed through reading comprehensions, writing compositions, discussions, and watching and analyzing pictures, movies or books that talk about the problem.

 Becoming more active in protecting the environment.

After these first working sessions, I recommend that students should be encouraged to change some daily habits for others that are more respectful with the environment, such as recycling, taking the public transport or going by bike or walking to places. Besides, it could be useful to know ho to use the resources properly, for instance, energy or water.

 Special events 

Finally, I feel that creating and participating in special events will assert students' engagement. Some proposals could be the projection of documentaries or films, or for instance hosting an expert talk. On the other hand, I firmly recommend the preparation of events around the neighborhood, which should also be of benefit to the local community. They could be activities to raise awareness amongst the population, or big rubbish collection or recycling campaigns.

 Conclusion 

It is my hope that the school administration will take my proposal into serious consideration, as I feel confident that if these measures are taken, there will be a significant improvement in the situation.
