historias familiares, tienen protagonistas jóvenes en busca de su

identidad, y hablan de conflictos sociales. Con un lenguaje muy fresco,

ideal para la inmersión lingüística que supone este ciclo de películas.

Short stories for Halloween

Dear students, 

Here you are the stories you wrote in groups. Send a comment with your name and group (just morning or evening group) and a short comment about your favourite story (state the number of the story). You can´t vote for the story you began. 

The group that gets mores "likes" will have a treat in next class session.

It was midnight and I was walking with my friends.We were daring each other into doing weird things. Suddenly, we saw a big spooky house, it was the darkest one we had ever seen. As we were walking by, we realized that there was a strange shadow behind the window. However, it disappeared as soon as we turned around. Suddenly, this shadow appeared in the ceiling and started to spread all around the walls taking a goat shape with big horns and something that appeared  in the ground between my legs made me fall down.

       Last Halloween, me and my friends went to a haunted house. It stood in the  misty, dark, spooky forest. As we walked by, we started to hear an evil creature creeping into us. Then, we saw a house in the horizon and we thought that would be a safe place to stay that night. Inside this creepy house, we found a five yeard-old girl singing a hair-rising song, which said "you´re going to die tonight", but we were drunk so we just laughed and went upstairs. There, we saw a door at the end of the corridor, which we decided to open. Surprisingly, there was a coffin in that room. As soon as we saw it, we screamed and ran out of that horrifying house.

      Everything started in a cold winter afternoon, when a strange man invited us to visit the old mansion. There were a lot of corridors covered with wood and an old door where we could read the mansion’s legend. On the door, there was a bloody hand-print. That was a very bad sign. So, we decided to open the door and as soon as we did it, we felt an unbearable odor.

When we were in the hall, we saw a pool of blood. Then, at that moment, we expected the worst, and scared to death, we left the house running as fast as we could.

When we arrived at a place we considered safe, we went to report it to the police and tell them that someone had been murdered in that house. Then we told the police where the house was, and they went there quickly. They had a good time talking to the man and inspecting the house, but they found nothing, so they left the house and the case was filed because there was no evidence of such a murder.

Time was passing by and one day, the children were doing some searching online and it turned out that in that house there had been a murder, but it had been 150 years ago. So, as all this gave them such bad feelings, they stopped investigating and tried to continue their life as normally as possible.

It was a dark and cold night. We were walking along a winding road when suddenly we saw an old mansion on the top of a hill.

Nobody seemed to live there and we decided to get in. There was a big hall with a huge chimney. We lit a fire with the logs we found next to the wall.

Suddenly, a high pitched scream was heard all around the house, we stood up as quickly as we could. We tried to find out where the scream came from. Then, we discovered a corpse in the bathroom. The bathroom was all covered with blood and there were footprints all over the floor. There is a killer among us and we are going to discover him.  Surprisingly, we saw a knife stabbed in somebody´s back. “Is it Bill the killer? Would someone blame Bill as the murderer? Abruptly, the light went out and when the light came back Bill was not in the house and we never saw Bill again.

5.  During the summer camp we went out without permission to the forest while everybody was sleeping. It was a full moon night.

Suddenly, we discovered a big ruined house. We decided to go inside because the door was open. When we were inside, we heard the door slameed. We began to be scared. There were no lights and strange noises appeared.

It was a stormy night so a thunder illuminated and showed all the shadows. One of the shadows started to get closer and closer …..another thunder illuminated the wall, which was covered with blood.

We all screamed and ran away from the shadow. Unfortunately, we got separated. Jimmy was alone in a corridor and noticed that a shadow was following him. He realized that the shadow was a hound. Jimmy carried some biscuits and threw them to the hound to distract it.

He ran away and fortunately he could find his friends. They returned to the summer camp where everybody was dead. We were the only ones alive.

6.

Five children were walking near an orphanage when their dog got lost. They started to run after the dog when suddenly, one of the children heard something strange near the orphan´s  home.

They decided to go into the asylum to see what was happening. The children tried to switch  the lights on but they didn't work. Suddenly, the dog ran away into the kitchen. The children followed  it and found Chicote stabbing their dog! They screamed and ran away. However, they could not find the exit so they got lost.

Suddenly, one of them disappeared into the darkness of the old orphanage, so the others tried to find him with no results. Blood still fresh in the walls and a big knife appeared nailed in a human head in the wall.

After that terrible situation, the children ran out looking for help, but what they didn't know was that Chicote was following them...

7.  

After a lot of time thinking about the perfect 'Family weekend' in a little village of Asturias they arrived there, four human beings and the dog.

At that time a big thunderstorm began, all the lights were swiched off and they had to stay in the darkness.

They were searching for some candles but they couldn't find them. Suddenly the door of the fence started to open and close . The telephone rang and my dad answered it. “Hello who is it?”

“Na, na, na, na....” (little girls singing)

“Hello who is there?” My dad repeated.

“Na, na, na, na ....(again singing) I'M GONNA KILL YOU !!!! “Said another scarifying and deeper voice.

The telephone rang again and when my father answered it he heard a voice saying:

“This is the new Halloween Vodafone advertisement, Na, na, na, na...Do you want to try our new Pumpkin phone model?”

Finally, the whole family started to laugh but the telephone rang again with a Na, na, na....song . This time all of them asked for one Pumpkin model for everyone.

At the end it was not a peaceful weekend but funny anyway.

8. 

Two investigators called Mulder and Scully went into a haunted house. The  family were scared about strange noises in the house at midnight. 

An owl was heard. Scully went to the living room to check what was going on. Then, she found a bloody head in the middle of the floor. Consequently, she went back to knock in Mulder`s door. Noises kept sounding in the basement. They thought it could be a ghost inside the house and tried to catch it.

They called the local ghostbusters. When they arrived, they realized that the ghost was the worst that they had ever seen.

Their gadgets weren`t enough to capture it and the ghost cut the head of the ghostbuster leader, who became a new ghost, while everybody fled from the house.

But do you know who was the deceased leader?

He was Chicote!!  And that is the reason why he always appears on TV programmes fighting with restaurant owners. He wanted some revenge, because the ghost was a restaurant owner.

Full lyrics

Adele's Rolling In The Deep tells us about a woman revenge to the man who has hurt her.

Story of the song
As you can see in the complete lyric above, the song is opened with two related sentences: "There's a fire starting in my heart, Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark." The sentences can be interpreted as the statement of gaining self consciousness. It can be understood, then, that so far she was in the darkness, confusion. She does not really know right and wrong. She does not know who to trust and who to distaste.

Now, that she is self conscious, she 'can see (him) crystal clear'. She can see how her spouse really is. She cannot be cheated anymore. And so she challenges him to 'sell me out' which is likely to mean 'keep playing fool of me' and if he does, she will 'lay his ship', she will take the revenge as she declares "see how I'll leave with every piece of you'. She will do all of this even though she is a woman who is usually underestimated.

In another verse, she talks about the pain she feels everytime she remembers their togetherness. It's bitter to remember something we don't wanna remember, right? That's why she says that all of the memories leave her breatless. It makes her feel so sad.

After telling her sadness in that verse, she then shows her anger again. It's clearly seen in the sentence 'I'm gonna make your head burn'. The section can be interpreted as the plan of revenge she will take. She will make the man hurt and despair so that he will feel more that she has ever felt. She will be glad to know that in his despair, he thinks of her. May be this is the ultimate revenge she is gonna do since it's also when she remembers the togetherness with him that she feels the pain.
