Students´ frightening stories

One Halloween my friends and I were going trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Down the street from us was and old deserted house that everyone thought was haunted. My mother said “Do not you dare go near that house!". Naturally, her warning made us even more curious. We went to the house and rang the bell. There was no answer. We tried the door. It was unlocked, so we entered the house. The door slammed behind us and…..

  • When we went into the dining room, the TV was on. And there were cookies on the table. We ate one. We continued examining the house. We went to the attic, and... Guess WHAT? Bats were flying around us...We heard a noise: “What are you doing here? Bu!" And we ran out of the house. Our hearts started beating faster and faster... And who was the person who told us that? It was my mother, she was laughing a lot, "Lol(laugh out loud), What did I tell you?" She said, “Next time, don't disobey me! Or you will have a bad experience!”

  • ….we started to walk along the different rooms of the house. When my friend Pedro listened to a strange noise, we started to run. Suddenly, I saw a ghost at the end of the corridor. We were extremely frightened and we did not know what do to so we started running to the other part of the house when, all of a sudden, I saw a door that was in the garden. When me and my friends were in the garden we thought that the best option was to phone our parents, but, at that moment we saw a witch, a vampire, a ghost and a pirate in front of us and we started to cry. When the time past we knew that the different people that we had seen in the house and in the garden were our parents because the wanted to frighten us.

  • …we came in. We couldn't see anything. It was dark. Suddenly we heard a noise on the second floor. We were afraid but we decided to go upstairs. When we came in the first room, we couldn't believe it. There was a big black cat with yellow eyes, and  there were a lot of broomsticks. Then we ran downstairs quickly and we went out from the house. We thought that a lot of witches were living there.

  • It was very dark. I could see nothing. Everything was black. I came back to the door but the door wasn’t there. I tried to touch with my hand but there was nothing. I couldn’t find my friends and I couldn’t find the door. I was alone in the middle of the darkness and I was frightened. Suddenly I heard footsteps and I started to walk. Somebody or something started to run. I was scared so I started to run too. I heard people crying and screaming. I was losing my mind. I didn’t know what to do. Then I felt a terrible hit on my face and I fell into a big hole. Then I woke up on my bed. It had been a nightmare.

  •  …suddenly, a strange woman with a very big hat appeared beside us. She was staring at us and she started to laugh. We thought she was crazy, and we ran to the door, but the door was closed. The woman approached us and said: ‘’Do you want an apple?’’ We didn’t answer because we were trying to open the windows. The girl was disappointed, and we didn’t know why, so we asked her and she told us: ‘’do you really think I’m so ugly? Are you really scared of me? ’We answered her that we thought she was a ghost, but no so ugly so she opened the door. When we were out we started to run to our houses and we promised not to return to that house. The next morning our parents went to the haunted house to investigate, but they couldn’t find anything! We couldn’t believe it.

  • …We decided to explore the house. It was very dirty; we could even see several bats and a lot of spiders. We tried to turn on the light, but we couldn´t, it didn´t work. Then we heard a noise in the living-room. We went there and we saw a person near an opened window. A little of light came in through the window, and we could see that the person had a mask and a tunic. That person said: "What are you doing here?" with a horrible voice. We were extremely frightened. Suddenly, he went towards the light and turned it on, and then he started to laugh. He took off the mask and... She was my mother!!!  "I told you not to come here!"

  • …We tried to turn on the lights but they didn´t work, suddenly we heard a noise beside us, but nobody saw anything, and we asked “who is there?" “Who has locked the door?" of course nobody answered us. We tried to open the door or the windows but we couldn´t so we started to be afraid and in this moment we heard a laughter beside us, it was my mother saying us "trick or treat?", she was wearing an alien costume.

.... Then, we could listen the shout, we were very scared but we continued exploring the house. When we were in the kitchen, we listened to a strong noise in the main door, we ran quickly, but it was closed, we tried to open it but it was impossible. At this moment, a ghost appeared in the living room, it was a girl, and she asked us why we were in her house, she said that, if we returned here, she would kill us. Then she disappeared an we could open the door, we ran out and returned to our houses. My friends and I never spoke about this again, but we know this is true, and we are too scared, because in neighbourhood there´s a real haunted house, an it isn´t very funny.

In my opinion, the best of all is the Marina Fidalgo's story because it has been able to maintain my excitement till the end. Her story is well done and I enjoyed reading it very much.

However I would like to give congratulation to all students which have written frightening stories, all of them are interesting
