AN  UNFORTUNATE  RUNNING-OVER
(By Cristina Garzón Martínez)
PLANNING
Introduction:
·         A man named Christopher saw a car parked outside his house.
·         It was a police car.
·         He thought that the police was going to arrest him.
·         He started to remember what had happened that day.
Development:
  • He went to work by motorcycle as he did every day.
  • On the way, he saw his neighbor Susan walking with her cat and he wanted to say hello.
  • He lost the motorcycle control.
  • He thought that he had killed the cat.
  • He ran away.
Conclusion:
  • He came back home later.
  • The policeman was waiting to give something to him.
  • What had really happened was that he had run over his wallet.

When Chris saw the car parked outside his house, his heart started beating faster.
“Oh my God! They are waiting for me.”, he said to himself. In fact, that police car parked there was not a good sign. Chris got off his motorcycle and walked slowly towards the house while he went remembering all what had happened that day…
It all began early in the morning when Chris was getting his things ready to go to his job. As every day, he took his bag, which contained some books, a sandwich and his wallet, and put it on the top of his motorcycle handlebar.
At the moment he was quietly driving along the neighbourhood road, he saw his neighbour Susan crossing the road with her little cat. Actually, he had never got on well with her, however, he waved his hand in order to say hello to her. Unfortunately, he lost control and quickly he had to put his hand down to hold his bag. At that moment, he felt the motorbike going up and down in a second and, at the same time, he listened to Susan shouting his name. He realized at once, he had run over the cat!
David was petrified and just drove away as fast as he could. While he was driving, he could not stop thinking about the accident, “If I had not said hello to Susan, I would not have killed her cat” he thought. Probably, she would be now phoning the police. She was very fond of her little cat, by the way, and she would never forgive him.
Finally, after driving lost and worried for hours, Chris decided to come back home. Now, there he was, and there was nothing that he could do to avoid being arrested. Nevertheless, he decided to keep calm and went into his house. He was looking for the keys into his bag when he realized that he had lost his wallet. “Definitely, today is not a good day for me!” he said to himself. Then, a straight-faced policeman appeared right in front of him. “Good afternoon, sir. You are Christopher Grant, aren´t you?” said the policeman. “Yes, I am” answered Chris in a trembling voice. “Perfect! I have come here to give you this. Your neighbour found it on the road and took it to the police station. I am afraid it is a little bit ruined, it looks like if a motorcycle had run over it.” “Oh my God! It was my wallet!” exclaimed Chris.
If he had stopped when Susan shouted his name, he would have realized it before.

The black car

When Chris saw the car parked outside her house, her heart started beating faster. It was a luxury black car. It was parked in the middle of a dark place. Chris decided to approach the car. Suddenly, it started when Chris was near. She was scared and she ran to her house. She went to bed; it had been a hard day.
Next day, she got up at half-past eight and had a shower. Then, she looked through the window while she was having breakfast. Suddenly, the same car which she saw last night was parked in front of her house. She wanted her mother to accompany her to school, but Chris didn’t want to tell her mother what was happening, so she arrived to school alone. When she left the school, she couldn’t see the black car again.
Two weeks later, her parents had to travel because her mother’s uncle had died. She had a big brother, but he was working in another country, so he didn’t live with them. That night, she had to sleep alone. When her parents went out, she closed the doors and the windows. At nine o’clock she decided to have dinner. After dinner, she was tired and she thought that watching a film would be relaxing. But she was in a mistake.
The film started. It was a terror film, but she considered herself as a brave person. Afterwards, a strange noise sounded while she was eating pop-corns. She looked through the window and she could see two men locking her door. They shouted: “don’t be afraid, Chris, we are not bad people!” Actually, they seemed good people. She decided to open the door. They explained that they were doing a study about rich people. I have forgotten to say that her family was the richest in the country.

When Chris saw the car parked outside his house, his heart started beating faster, because it was Nicole’s car. If he hadn’t seen the yellow Opel in front of his apartment, he would have continued his normal life. However, all had changed in that moment.

Before that, he had been having breakfast and he had been listening to the news on the radio. An unfortunate woman called Nicole died in a road traffic accident. It was terrible! Immediately, Chris thought that Nicole was the dead woman he had listened about in the radio.

When Chris saw the car, he ran to it. Suddenly, Nicole got out, she smiled and she said: ‘If I were you, I would choose other clothes to come here…’. Chris was dressed with his blue pyjamas. However, at that moment Chris was the happiest man in the world and he said: “Nicole, It's not important for me!” and then, he hugged Nicole and cried.
